Publisher Description
Scato (Scalable Tortoise) is a programming language to drive the tortoise, that can draw lines with different width and colors. Scato is designed to plot iterated function system (IFS), L-systems, Penrose tile, and similar kinds of fractal objects. It's arm to make easy to scale and rotate parts of plots, produce loops and recursions, and create pretty self-similar colored curves.
Moreover, Scato is environment. You can execute your programs, debug them, view results and export pictures in PostScript format. Also Scato equipped with helpful build-in examples and demos.
It's make Scato very easy to learn. It can be used by peoples, who never programming before. It can be used to learning programming with great success. You can immediately understand the program without any training. And you will have to spend just a little time to begin to write your own Scato-programs.
Graphical interface features: loading/reloading files, watching files (reload automatically if file has been changed), export images as PostScript files, step-by-step execution, state control , help menu provide brief descriptions of language and environment, many build-in examples (30 for learning; 42 advanced demos) etc.
Features of language: drawing, moving, coloring, orientation control, variables and computation, conditions and flow control, loops, context control, procedures etc.
Command line interface features: specify file to process, set initial of window geometry, watch-mode control, autoraise-mode control.
